I awaken each morning to a brand new day
Wishing the heartache and pain would go away
As you try to remember the days you were glad
The grief and the pain just make you so sad
The good time forgotten we dwell on the past
Of the painful memories that always seem to last
Was it a phone call or maybe you were there
When your world turned into total despair
A tragic experience we never seemed to see
Only the heartbreak and what it appears to be
We are lost in our love and grief so deep
Many days and many nights we still weep
It may be months, even longer the years
Nothing can stop the outburst of tears
Yet each new day we awaken again
