What I have learned is very difficult to express
Nothing to prove and there is no success
From a loss so tragic and profound and deep
You cannot understand let alone just weep
As life spun it way all around me
I was left with a heart now broke and empty
Leave no mistake for you know its true
The person I once was is not the same to you
I use to get angry with a lot of words you said
Get over it, move on for they are now dead
The words strike deep because they are true
While your life comes unglued this happens to you
There was no warning no one to let you know
For a life was ending like the new fallen snow
At first you are numb your mind does nor work
No one can understand they think you are a jerk
Time moves on and leaves the days behind
Others move on but we can't even unwind
A month a year a birthday and more
With each new holiday we weep for sure
We cannot control a love so deep
For it is from them our love do we weep
The 2nd year passes and now does the third
We find some solace which we never heard
A peace within you will now feel
For then you have realized it was for real
For now I have learned that I cannot change
The one I have lost will always remain
Locked in my heart and in my mind
Compassion and understanding is what I did find.
To try and help others with these words that I write
To comfort and tell them to weep is all right
We will never forget them it's true
That's' why I write these poems for me and for you
