To those newly bereaved my heart goes out to you
I have walked in your shoes and know what you're going through
The pain the anger the emptiness in your heart
The tears you cry and your nightmares in the dark
The emotions so shattered the heart breaks in two
Words are useless there is nothing I can do
A word called Suicide I never bothered to know
Now is a part of me and I'm sure it does show
Families and friends can't understand our grief
Our minds are strained as is our beliefs
It has been over a year and this I found out
Love and compassion is what it's all about
Their life was ended with nary a thought
W didn't know that they were that distraught
Now the questions with no answers found
The if's and the why's keep coming around
Your heart so shattered as is your mind
Answers to questions you will never find
The pattern goes on day after day
The pain will lessen but never go away
So my newly bereaved this I say to you
Trust in God for his love is true
Your loved one is gone to heaven above
Surrounded by God's Angels and his great love
Even though they are no longer here
They are always beside you and very near
So my new friends I will say this to you
My heart goes out to you and all you are going through
