They Speak To Me
Did you know that before they died
The tears and pain they held deep inside
Did you know they tried their best
They couldn't be like all the rest
Can you understand the fate they had to choose
The had nothing to gain and nothing to lose
Their hopes and dreams went up in smoke
Their lives were useless they had no hope
They speak to me through my mind
To try and shed answers we can't find
They tell me that you are not to blame
You did no wrong and should bear no shame
For in their final act in life
Ending all their worldly strife
They found their final peace at last
Now that day now has past
Weep for me the tears I know
It is the love for me you show
My time has come and God called me home
For I am free with heaven to roam
I can see you clear and read your mind
Sometimes I'll even give you a sign
Even though I am always near
Things to you aren't as clear
One thing I never got a chance to say
How much I loved you when I died that day
Please forgive me for what I had to do
It was never intended to hurt you
Then one day when God calls you home
We will be together with heaven to roam
