These lights That Shine
This little Cypress tree was very small
Now it has grown to over 20 feet tall
Each year around Christmas time
I would decorate it with lights so sublime
Since you left us and you're not here
The lights remain throughout the year
Last night I had to restring the tree
The one that shows the way for thee
It had lost its glow and was very dim
I leave it lit at night for him
For in the dark and lonely night
It will always glow with the light
A simple tree with its lights all aglow
To shine though the night for you to know
That even though you are no longer here
These lights will shine all through the years
For I have made a pact with God above
These lights that shine for you I love
