The Rose

If I had a rose and asked what do you see
What would you answer what would it be
Would you describe the petals and shape
Or even the colors and make no mistake
The beauty so clear that our eyes can see
Each tiny petal that a new bud will free
Bee's find the nectar and pollinate the rose
To ensure that new bud will never close
You look at the rose but not at the thorns
For a crown of them should never be worn
Why does a Rose that is so delicate and pretty
Have branches full of thorns that are ugly and prickly
To breathe in their aromas and inhale their rich scent
Is just one of many gifts that God has sent
A rose so beautiful so rich and so pure
I give from my heart to you forever more
