The Beach

I rode past the beach one day
I stopped by to ease my day
On the beach a man digs for shells
Behind him flows the gulf and swells
Out in the distance there appear 2 atolls
While flying overhead are some noisy seagulls
The gentle sea breeze moves softly across your face
Your mind and your body welcome a new embrace
The serenity and solitude that you have found
As you watch the sand crabs come out of the ground
People are there with their poles and there bait
Hoping to catch the big one they can hardly wait
My mind wanders back to days of yesteryear
Memories come back of things I hold dear
Most important of all is what I find here
The sounds of the waves and the coast so clear
The simple but tender moments you find
Helps to ease a weary and troubled mind
If only for a moment or two
That is what the beach can do for you
