A Special Friend
When the sun reaches the morning sky
A new day begins when you open your eyes
Yesterday has now passed and gone away
Because your life begins a brand new day
I cannot change which now is gone
But I can correct right from wrong
I am just a mortal man and I make mistakes
That is the gift I receive each day that I awake
Now I have learned that friends are true
For they are the ones who are special to you
For when you are down and full of despair
I have been there and you know that I care
True friends are far and few I know
It takes just one to make it show
A simple smile a happy embrace
Nothing can ever take it’s place
For when you find a friend that true
It is from God he sent for you
A special friend I will always be
This I know as you remember me
