It's that time of year as Christmas is near
The time for giving and to start a new year
What can you give when you have lost a loved one
The compassion and support to those just begun
For they are now there where you once were
Their lives are a shambles this you can concur
Reach out and tell them let them feel your love
As the spirit of Christmas shines down it's love
To give you strength to go on each day
To show you the light in his holy way
For one day your time will come to passing
Life will not end but be everlasting
So during the holidays as they draw near
Be strong for family and those so dear
In my heart I can feel the love
To write these poems for you to love
So as my Christmas gift to you
Reach out and help someone new
Show them the love from within your heart
Just maybe it may help them find a new start
That we have survived as hard as it has become
For the one we lost was once someone
We have carried our cross and have learned to care
With the feeling of Christmas filling the air
All we have is time on our hands
To try and help others understand
So as I say these words to you
