New To Grief

To all the new people who now grieve
My heart aches for you that you can believe
I have worn the shoes and they fit me tight
It happened to me late one Friday night
Like you I have lost a loved one
For me it was my oldest Son
The pain and heartache that I went through
With nightmares and tears I suffered to
To say I understand is hard to explain
Our lives will never ever be the same
Now as you search for someone to share
You have found those of us that care
We will comfort and listen to all your sorrows
I know in your heart and mind you dread tomorrows
There are no words to ease your pain
You are at a loss and you can't explain
When you are down and life looks dim
Remember this Love comes from within
For in your heart and mind they will always be
A part of your life that is now a memory
Remember them for the time they were alive
That is how you will learn to survive
