My Son

I had a son it is true they say
Until the time he was called away
HE was a joy to me and so much fun
We would laugh and play in the summer sun
From a baby to school you came to be
A very proud Dad of you from me
The days and nites we once share
Are Only memories like thin air
My heart they will always yearn to feel
That this was a dream and is not real
We worked together day by day
Until you went your seperate way
Amongst tears or grief and sorrow
Your life begins anew tomorrow
Life goes on and I must too
Remember me Son I love You
I pray to God up above
That he bless you with his love
Though you're gone and I cannot see
I know the Love you had for me
Losing you is hard my son
Life is hard and not much fun
Now I must close this chapter.
I see you soon in the hereafter
