In the darkness and gloom of a moonlit night
The loss of a life that was once so bright
No one knew what was about to unfold
Nor did they know they would never grow old
To each of us a life was lost that day
Wondering what words we did not say
Would it have made a difference at all
No one will ever know it was their call
Our minds get distorted with all sorts of thought
It is not our doings for being so distraught
What signs did I miss what did I not see
I can never understand how this could happen to me
But happen it did now I struggle with each day
My only wish is it didn't have to be this way
Now my life seems empty and lost
The price I pay is not worth the cost
So in the darkness of a moonlit night
I will look to the heaven's and God's pure light
