Christmas comes but only once a year
This Christmas is another you aren't here
I sat and pondered what should I do
Thoughts of you and how I feel blue
How can I be happy and celebrate this year
Knowing to well you are no longer here
Should I forget the tree and the gifts
My mind and my heart is like a boat adrift
What do I do please help me get through
Another Christmas is coming since I lost you
I try and think what you would say
Live on and be happy on Christmas day!
It's hard for me as you well know
A smile on my face hides the pain below
The presents for you unopened since last year
Brings back memories and also the tears
Oh how I wish that I had only knew
Your thoughts and what you were about to do
It was God's love that showed you the way
He welcomed you home before the last Christmas day
Now Christmas comes again this year
It will be hard since you're not here
I hope and I pray to God up above
On Christmas day he will send his love
Then I will know deep in my heart
There you will always be a part
