The Last Thanksgiving

How do you celebrate Thanksgiving this year?
When you lose someone you hold very dear
Most of us it is the time for family and friends
The turkey and trimmings the food never ends
We laugh and talk about things that we done
This year is different there is no more fun
There is one plate that will be empty and bare
The plate for you who is no longer there
We give thanks for our blessings to God up above
Mostly for you the one that we lost and we love
This year will be different as we all know
Let's just hope our tears do not flow
Remember all the thanksgiving's past
Most of all remember their last
For it is then that you will see
The last thanksgiving you were happy
