I Must Survive

In the quiet solitude my thoughts are of you
Remembering all the things that we used to do
Things we take for granted we never realize
How much we miss while we are alive
They speak of the roses that we never smell
We live in the fast lane we all know well
Why does it take a tragic act to see
How our lives can crumble and be so empty
Our minds can't fathom the pain and the grief
Our hearts once strong now break with disbelief
I myself have learned quite well
It feels like I have been through hell
You don't realize until it's too late
The one you loved had no escape
Answers you look for clues there are none
If only you could change what can't be undone
The future you looked for will no longer be
Your loved one had a date with their destiny
You now have 2 choices which one will you choose
1 is to survive and live the other one you will lose
To say it is easy is telling a lie
I must survive I will not die
So I can help others to help them realize
How important their life is they must survive
