If I Were A Prophet

If I were a prophet I would tell you this today
About all the good things that would surely come your way
I would tell you all about the happy things to happen in your life
Even tell you the sad times when you will have some strife
One thing I wouldn't tell you is something that I dread
Is one day you will learn that your loved one now is dead
This is something in your life I wouldn't want to share
For that is when you will find out the cross that you must bear
The pain and the sorrow that will come into your life that day
Will always now be with you is the price you must pay
I wish these things I didn't know .but know I do it's true
Just how hard this will affect and almost devastate you
For God hath gave his Only Son who died up on the cross
He knows all to well your suffering and your loss
All things happen for a reason, this I do not understand
But I know our loved one is there holding God's hand
They are free and safe high in heaven above
For they have found eternal life through God's true pure love
One day will come and you will know, it's time for you to go
Then you will be together again with the Angels all aglow
When you meet you loved one at heaven's pearly gate
A smile of love and happiness that is no mistake
Remember these words I say today this will happen to you
One day when your time on earth is done, This I know is true!
