Grief

Grief is a word we hear about
Until it hits you then watch out
You can't describe the way you feel
Words don't help nothing seems real
It comes from nowhere and knocks on your door
Tearing you apart and keeps coming back for more
Why does this word and thing called grief
Haunt us and render us with no relief
We didn't choose to live this way
Nor did we expect the price we would pay
Normal lives once happy and sound
Now is empty with few people around
Not only did grief come that day
Sorrow and emptiness are here to stay
