God Help Me Understand

It wasn't that long ago you were here with me
But little did I know my life would soon be empty
I never would have known what was due to unfold
Or how I would have found you so dead and yet so cold
Of all the things I have in life I just didn't understand
Why God had called you home to his promised land
It is not for me to question this is what I am told
His life was only temporary to have and to hold
They say there is a reason , a pupose and a plan
I just wish God would show me how to understand
I only know of what I heard about the other side
Only this broken heart know all the tears I have cried
I trust in God and have my faith this is what I must do
But no one can ever say how much I love and miss you
I feel so empty and thoughts of meeting you above
But doing so would destroy the ones I love
Yes the thought is there but only just a thought
All because I lost you and my life is so distraught
I feel you didn't die in vain this I know it's true
So I can write and share my poems this is what I do
To try and help others who suffer and who grieve
To help them lift their hearts and to God I do believe
