From ashes to ashes and dust to dust
In God's hands do our souls we trust
We are born into a life of sin
That is where it all begins
For each of us has our fate
To live and die on a specific date
But how we live our lives what counts
How we overcome obstacles that surmount
We live and grow day to day
The words we learn how to say
We are taught about life and heaven
In reality we are all brethren
Sometimes in life things go wrong
That is when we learn to be strong
In our struggles we grieve and cry
Sometimes we search for answers why
We get angry and vent our words
Thinking that they are never heard
But God hears all of those that pray
For in your heart he lives this way
So when you are down and see no light
Remember God his way is right
He may not help the way you feel
His love is true and that is real
