What do I think about I am always asked
I think of all my memories from years passed
My mind wanders back to the days long ago
When life was so different and did it seem slow
When we were kids we played all kinds of games
Now life has changed and nothing is the same
Back in the 50's when moms stayed at home
Kids played games and had no need to roam
Yes maam yes sir were part of the rules
We said our pledge and prayer in school
Cars were unlocked and nothing was missing
While the worse thing we did was to get caught kissing
Now times has changed and I'm sorry to say
I wish I could go back and relive those days
Life has changed and I have to accept
Those days long gone are my regrets
So the years go by and as I grow old
I think of all the stories I could have told
Now my life is beginning to wind down
I see all the misery and hate with a frown
But in the end I will always know
Of a time in my memory so long ago
My mind wanders back to those yesterdays
For I am lost in thought with no words left to say
