Compassion and Humility

Compassion and understanding I have learned
I gave up the life that I used to yearn
Gone are greed and material things
Replaced with heavenly angels wings
Those days gone past not long ago
Little did I learn I did not know?
Then one day an event took place
That changed the look right on my face
Someone I love changed their destiny
Now they live in God's harmony
The things I took for granted are no more
This I have learned and that I am sure
For in a simple minute of fate
Their life ended they didn't hesitate
The shock and anger, the grief and sorrow
Follows me around with each tomorrow
The love I had for you true
I just hope that you knew
For in the finals minutes of life
You ended all of your own strife
Now all that is left for me
Is compassion and humility
