Another New Year

As the Old year counts down to bring the New Year in
Some watch the ball drop as the New Year begins
To those that have lost a loved one and sit here alone
In our house once filled with memories we once called home
Now each day passes it's the same old thing
Wishing our loved one would call when the telephone would ring
The knock on the door would make our hearts all aglow
That Has long passed for our loved ones don't show
Many times have I wondered what I have done wrong
My life was so full and I was so strong
No answers do I find to the questions no one hears
The grief, the anger is the sum of our fears
Another year has passed and we have survived
Deep in our hearts we would rather have died
We would have traded places without even a word
It was not meant to be is what I have heard
Do not despair please don't weep for me
For I am with God for Eternity
